From the picturesque village of Schwarzenberg accross the Bödele and Brüggelekopf with views of Lake Constance.

The day of hiking commences with a leisurely bus trip from Schwarzenberg to the Bödele. That’s where Berghof Fetz with its large sun terrace is. Steps lead down from the terrace at Berghof Fetz. Cross the road to the bus station. The hike starts inconspicuously behind parking lots around 30 metres to the left.

It leads from the Bödelepass through the Obere Geißkopf area to the Bergvorsäß. Turn left at the first crossroads, then there’s another fork in the trail – follow the sign for ‘Lorenapass, Brüggelekopf’ uphill. You’ll see the Brüggelekopf in the distance as you come out of the forest. Turn right towards ‘Brüggele ü. Lorena’ and follow the trail to the Brüggelekopf. A wonderful view of Lake Constance awaits at the summit.

You’ll hike from Alpengasthof Brüggele downhill towards Kaltenbrunnen. Just before you get to the holiday homes, the trail takes a right through the forest to ‘Elias Brügel’. That’s where the remarkable parish priest who took care of plague patients in Egg during the 17th century is commemorated. Now hike for 30 minutes uphill to Maien. Fourteen stations of the cross lead from there downhill and uphill until you get to Bödelestraße. Follow the road down to the centre of the village of Schwarzenberg.
