Silvretta Hochalpenstraße (High Alpine Road)/Montafon
Current information (August 2025):
Due to damage caused by storms and heavy rain, the Silvretta High Alpine Road has not yet been able to open.
Based on new geological findings, the Silvretta High Alpine Road will not be able to open in the 2025 season.
As an alternative, the Vermuntbahn (including tunnel bus) will start operating on 9 August 2025, providing a connection to the Bielerhöhe from the Vorarlberg side.
The path along the western shore of Lake Silvretta is closed due to the risk of rockfall – it is not possible to walk around the lake. The closure is directly after Kunstraum2032silvretta.
Access from the Tyrolean side to the Bielerhöhe and Vermuntsee is still possible without restriction. (As of August 2025)
