Lakeside holidays

Water holds a magical appeal for us as people. A visit to the lakeside broadens our horizons and sharpens our senses. The rejuvenating powers of water are impossible to ignore.

Bathing at Lake Constance and Vorarlberg’s natural bathing lakes
Vorarlberg not only features natural lakes and natural bathing facilities with maximum water quality, it also boasts beautiful bathing lakes. As it is free of chemicals, the natural water is perfect for a refreshing dip.

Can I go swimming in Lake Constance?
Naturally! The water reaches temperatures of up to 26 degrees in summer, while the banks are filled with lakeside lidos and natural bathing areas.

Vorarlberg is home to a wide range of bathing and leisure options – and there are so many ways to enjoy the water on the banks of Lake Constance.

Water sports and boat trips on Lake Constance
If you are looking to enjoy an active break, Lake Constance is home to all kinds of water sports – including sailing, beginners’ sailing courses, surfing and wakeboarding. Visitors can also sample the stand-up paddling (SUP) craze for themselves, with ‘SUP at sunset’ among the available activities. Sailing regattas also host a number of races that are often truly spectacular.

For a very special experience, board a boat belonging to the white fleet of Vorarlberg Lines at Bregenz harbour and glide across the surface of Lake Constance: feel your everyday concerns melt away as you cast off on an excursion or a cruise.

The Bodensee Erlebniskarte (Holiday Pass of Lake Constance SUMMER) provides free or discounted entry to the most popular excursion destinations, an array of museums and baths, and a series of cable cars around Lake Constance. One of the available card options also includes the boat trip.
