Enjoy the silence
Winter 2018/19
in Vorarlberg
Internalise the power and majesty of nature and set these strengths into motion as you glide silently through a peaceful world...
… finding your own rhythm as you advance forward.
Energy and vitality is renewable!
Internalise the power and majesty of nature and set these strengths into motion. On the slopes, in the forest and in the villages, let the enchanting landscape work its magic. Treat your soul to stillness and peace. Transform your holiday into a lasting experience.
A diverse network of trails and routes for classic cross-country skiing and skating is available in all regions of Vorarlberg. Cross-country ski trails are present in numerous places. Many of these are even floodlit and open in the evening. High-elevation cross-country ski trails above 1,000 metres elevation are a special experience. Vorarlberg’s highest cross-country ski trail, across the frozen Silvretta lake to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe at 2,000 m in Montafon, is an extra special experience. The Nordic Sports Park in Sulzberg is a compact option for winter holidaymakers far from the downhill ski slopes. There is even a 4-km floodlit stretch, which is open from Monday to Friday.
Events take place regularly in winter, for example the Charity Night on December 15, the Nordic Day on 14 January, or the family cross-country-ski days with cross-country-ski workshops on 20 and 27 January 2018.
Give biathlon a try
Those interested can try out biathlon, a combination of cross-country skiing and sport shooting, in Kleinwalsertal. Experts will demonstrate the right moves on the slope and at the shooting range every Monday. Similar opportunities exist at the Nordic Sports Park Sulzberg in Bregenzerwald.

DescriptionThe somewhat challenging route Zürs – Flexenpass – Zürs is ideal for advanced cross-country skiers and winter hikers. Starting from Trittkopfbahn 1, follow the well-prepared cross-country trail and winter hiking trail south towards Flexenpass. Here you can either take a break in the rustic Flexenhäusl or follow the route further south. After the path makes a generous loop, the hilly route leads back to Zürs.
