Hop-on-hop-off tour of Vorarlberg

Sightseeing by bus and train

‘On the bus, passengers become a community. The network of Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg (Vorarlberg Transport Association) brings people together. It is the backbone of mobility.’ (Tina Mott)

Everything is possible thanks to the excellent network of Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg!
Every day, tens of thousands of Vorarlberg residents travel across the 96 municipalities of their state, taking the more than 360 buses that make up the Transport Association’s fleet. There are 1,825 bus stops and 46 railway stations in the state of Vorarlberg. Perfect conditions for trips by bus and train, then!

Vorarlberg is the perfect region for leisurely hop-on-hop-off excursions: trains and the reliable Landbus routes take you across the entire state at hourly intervals so you never need to rely on anyone else for your planning. Travel from Lake Constance to the high peaks of the Silvretta Alps in the far south of the state, enjoy a Vorarlberg round trip via Lech am Arlberg to the Hochtannberg area and back, visit the magical Bregenzerwald, or explore the Lünersee lake in the Brandnertal valley. Schedule your breaks as you please to treat yourself to tasty meals, discover quaint villages on foot or take brief circular hikes. We have put together some day trip recommendations for you.
What do I need?

  • The affordable ‘maximo’ day ticket of Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg (Vorarlberg Transport Association), which covers the entire state (€ 15.70; children under 6 travel for free, children from 6 to 14 pay half, tariffs valid as of 2022), and
  • the cleVVVer mobile app for Android and iPhone. The VVV’s live updates for all buses and trains show you the latest departure times, best connections, alternative routes and service disruptions across the network.

We hope you have a pleasant journey and meet many interesting people!
