Bartholomäberg in the Montafon is widely known as a sun terrace. Like the Silbertal valley, it is literally deeply steeped history. Not long ago, they found traces of 7000-year old settlements. For a number of centuries, precious ores such as silver, iron and copper, were mined in the narrow greywacke zone. At times, there were some 150 mining galleries in the hamlet of Worms! In the Silbertal museum you can experience history hands-on. One part of the trail tells hikers about how the mountain range and the amazing ossifications formed. Add sublime views to this history panorama, always to the south, of the imposing Raetikon range with its awe-inspiring summits: Sulzfluh, Drusenfluh, Drei Türme, Zimba, in the foreground the power plant complex at the foot of the Golm, to its side the vertical drop of the Vandans rock faces. From the Rellseck, the Walgau and the lower stretches of the Ill river draw your gaze towards the west, towards to gentler landscapes near the Rhine. This hike is a sheer endless succession of Kodak moments.
