Factbox

  • The construction of this house with a nearly square layout was demonstrably carried out in 1440 as a simple, single storey building. The walls were pulled up in typical Walser-style knitting construction, and beams of up to 14 cm were used for the construction of the room. The renovations in 1595 and 1874 gave the house its present appearance. From 1939, the “Old Town Hall” was used exclusively for residential purposes, in 2016/17 the new owners undertook extensive refurbishment measures. At the back of the house everything was rotten and broken, exposed. New is a floor plate for the kitchen, because the couple Fritz would like to install a café. In the basement, which was mostly filled, a beautiful vault with old stones was created. The design of the roof is open. The listed building will in future be made accessible to the public and used for tourist and cultural interests.
