Art, culture and creative activities for kids
Insights into the creation of art in current and historical topics are provided by some museums in Vorarlberg, e.g. the vorarlberg museum, the inatura and many more. Some of them offer their own programs, workshops, creative afternoons, guided tours for families and children...
Inatura – Dornbirn Nature Exhibition: Touch and try out: That’s the motto at the interactive nature experience show in Dornbirn. The building also houses a science center.
Interesting what people used to collect. Or what the archaeologists have discovered under the earth. Family tours with handicrafts and painting at the end take place regularly, as well as creative workshops for young visitors. But also during a “normal” visit there is a lot to discover for the little ones. In addition, admission is generally free for visitors up to 19 years of age.
Young Festival – Children’s Festival
Under the title ‘Young Festival’, the Bregenz Festival offers an exciting cultural programme: Young Festival enables children and young people to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of musical theatre and music. An important part of this colourful educational programme is not just listening, but also getting creatively involved themselves.
A summer adventure for the whole family: a total of 57 museums in Vorarlberg, Liechtenstein and neighbouring Switzerland are opening their doors and offering a special programme for families with children under 18. Admission: €1. Best of all: free travel by bus and train throughout the destination area!

The Kunsthaus Bregenz, a glass cube, is one of the leading houses for contemporary art. special guided tours and artistic workshops are held for children aged 5-10. in addition, admission is generally free until the age of 19.
Together with the writer Monika Helfer and the artist Barbara Steinitz, the Jewish Museum Hohenems has set up its own children’s exhibition to accompany the exhibition tour throughout the house. In scenic episodes and silhouette pictures, the children’s exhibition tells the story of the Hohenems Jews from the beginning to the present in a language and picture world accessible to 6-12 year olds.
Castle and medieval fans will find glimpses of an earlier time in the 18 fully furnished museum rooms in the castle in Feldkirch. There are guided tours for children and a range of offers for families.
