Stay overnight in an igloo!

To sleep in a self-made igloo, you'll need perseverance and strength. But the rewards are totally cool!

Equipped with saws and shovels, participants from Hittisau in the Bregenzerwald construct an igloo in the middle of a white winter landscape. Kitted out with waterproof clothing and suitable gear, the participants saw and assemble blocks of ice according to expert instruction. Fortunately, the hard work performed in the brisk air is occasionally punctuated by breaks featuring warming drinks and a refreshing snack by the cosy fire. The programme begins at 9 am and participants either return back to the village at 6 pm or spend the night in the igloo.

How do you build an igloo? Experts from Aktivzentrum Bregenzerwald explain how near Schnepfau. Participants first navigate to the location with snowshoes and GPS. The igloo is constructed before dusk. The minimum number of participants is six.

Spend the night in the Alps in an igloo at an altitude of over 2,000 metres! What sounds like a fantasy adventure for your personal bucket list has recently become an attainable reality in Montafon. As part of this luxury option, we’ve thought of everything! As dusk settles in, participants will enjoy a communal torchlight hike to the existing igloo village followed by a proper cheese fondue and a nightcap around the campfire. At the sheepskin sleeping area, participants have the option to spread their sleeping bag and bed down at the close of an unforgettable night! As a finishing touch, wake up to a rich breakfast at the Valisera Hüsli mountain restaurant.
