The Culinary hiking in the Biosphere Reserve Großes Walsertal combines a scenic hike with a three-course meal. You will spend around four hours hiking from the mountain station of the Sonntag-Stein cable cars to various alpine pastures. There, hikers can expect a morning snack, lunch and a sweet conclusion with regional delicacies. Bookable daily from June to September.
02 Culinary hiking in Brandnertal
During Culinary Hiking in Brandnertal you can choose from two delectable routes between May and October. Depending on the route, the hike takes between 3.5 and 5 hours. Starter, main course and dessert are served at three different pleasure stations. On the stages, the view of the surrounding mountains can be enjoyed.
03 Culinary hiking in Klostertal
From June to October, the Culinary hiking in Klostertal takes you from one gourmet station to the next on foot or by (e-)bike. Between the three pleasure stations, where the hosts spoil you with regional specialties, (e)bikers and hikers enjoy nature and the tranquility of the Klostertal.
04 Culinary hikes in the Bregenzerwald region
Explore the five unique routes through the Bregenzerwald and take your taste buds on an alpine adventure. The all-day packages include breakfast, lunch and a dessert as you hike from course to course. Each meal is served at a separate mountain inn or restaurant, and the overall walking time is between 3.5 and 5 hours.
The packages are available from May until October, depending on the route, and can be booked at Bregenzerwald Tourismus. Holders of the Bregenzerwald Guest Card are eligible for discounts.
05 From the field to the plate
If you want to know how your food gets from the field to your plate, look no further. Once a week, the former chef Herbert Edlinger, winner of a Gault-Millau award, organises a culinary hike with a cooking session on the alp in the Kleinwalsertal. The guided tour takes 3–4 hours, and its participants learn all about the local network of farmers and innkeepers while picking fragrant herbs from the alpine meadow. At the Melköde GenussHütte, hungry hikers get to sample a wide range of regional products. The guided hike takes place every Thursday from May until November.
06 Culinary hike through the Kleinwalsertal valley
Along the five-hour valley hike through the Kleinwalsertal, hikers can expect a 3-course gourmet menu from May to mid-October in addition to impressions of nature and panoramic views. Each course (starter, main course and dessert) is served in a different hotel.
The package can be booked every week from Thursday to Sunday.
