    Kirchplatz Schruns - pedestrian zone - left Litzpromenade - playground - Tschagguns station - right Ill riverbank (upstream) - playground - Aktivpark Montafon - Kirchplatz Schruns

    This path is very easy to walk and ideal for families. Along the Litzpromenade, you can see ahead the Vandanser Steinwand with the “Zimba” (2,643 m) or the Golm area with its mountain lifts. The Litz springs from the rear Silbertal and flows into the Ill. On the Illweg, which is also a cycle path, you walk to the Aktivpark Montafon, which includes the Alpenbad Montafon, the Erlebnisreich (an indoor playground in summer), tennis courts, football pitches, and an adventure forest for children. Then the path leads via a walking path back to the center of Schruns. The route is pram-accessible and is a popular walking path also for children, as there is much to discover. You pass three nice playgrounds!

  • Directions

    The route starts at Kirchplatz Schruns. We walk down through the pedestrian zone “Gässle” and choose the left Litzpromenade. After a short time, you reach a playground. The path continues along the Litzpromenade to Tschagguns station. We cross the street and after a few metres turn left over the bridge of the Litz. At the traffic light, we cross the street again and choose the right Ill riverbank path upstream. After the bridge, there is another nice playground. We now follow the pedestrian and cycle path on the left Ill riverbank to Aktivpark Montafon, the largest leisure park in Vorarlberg. We keep left and choose the pedestrian underpass to get to the other side of the street. On the right side, we see the football stadium Aktivpark Montafon. Shortly after the stadium, we turn right — shortly afterwards left — and take the footpath back to the village center of Schruns.

    The regional buses operate throughout Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns station.

    Arrival by train to Montafon

    From Bludenz station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns.
