Very well built, modern sport climbing via ferrata with several different variants. The via ferrata can be ideally combined with a visit to the suspension bridge.
From Lech Zürs am Arlberg you can reach Holzgau by car in about 30 minutes. From the hiking car park it takes about 30 minutes to get started. The via ferrata lies directly at the Simswasserfall and is a worthwhile destination due to its special location alone. There are several variants here:
- The Gamsrunde is the easiest round: B/C
- The Steinbock round is the longest round and also leads to the big wall on the opposite side of the waterfall: C
- The eagle variant is a short, but very heavy variant, which requires proper technique and strength: D/E
After the via ferrata you can stop at the nearby Café Uta and hike back to the suspension bridge on the circular trail. Both are very beautiful and worthwhile destinations.
A stop at Café Uta and a visit to Suspension Bridge are obligatory!
