Summit tour Obere Wildgrubenspitze
-
Höhenprofil
A rarely visited summit between Lech and Zürs near the Madlochjoch. From the summit you have a fantastic 360° view of the entire Arlberg region.
The Obere (Kleine) Wildgrubenspitze is a beautiful summit with a fantastic view in all directions. The rarely visited summit can be climbed from Lech, from Zürs or from the Ravensburger Hütte hut, the tour over the Madlochjoch is probably the most beautiful variant. Always along the Grünen Ring Route, the route leads to the Madlochjoch, which is so popular in winter, and from there on to the summit. Freedom from vertigo is only important on the last meters to the summit, as these are quite airy and exposed. Otherwise, one moves mainly on wonderful hiking trails and over gentle meadows. The descent after the summit past the bivouac to Lech is anyway a highlight in the Lech hiking area.
If you want a special view of the Zürsersee lake, look out for Taurin's cave, just above the bottom station of the Madloch cable car.

Directions
From the hiking starting place, one gets into the local bus Lech and rides to the last station in Zürs. At the upper end of the car park, a signpost points us in the direction of the Zürser See lake. At first a little steeper, it soon goes over gentle meadow slopes below the Hasenfluh towards Seekopf. Up here, the first highlight awaits you: the Zürsersee lake. After this scenic highlight, the trail continues directly under the Madlochbahn cable car to the Wollgraswiese meadow. After the sink, another steeper area waits before we reach the Madlochjoch at 2,450m altitude. The upper Wildgrubenspitze is now on the left, facing Zug. We take the path towards Ravensburger Hütte, the Wildgrubenspitze is not signposted, but the path is marked blue and easy to find. For the last few metres up to the 2,625-metre-high summit, a head for heights is necessary. We go back to the Madlochjoch on the same route before we hike on the 2nd stage from the Grüner Ring via the Gstüatalpe to the starting point in Lech.
