Schröcken | Sunny side

The loop begins at the church square in Schröcken. From there, follow the main road downhill for about 500 meters until just before the Tannberg Bridge, where a narrow path on the left leads through the forest down to the Bregenzerache. The trail runs along the river on a farm road until it reaches a fork, where you’ll take a paved road uphill for about 500 meters into the Unterboden district.

After crossing the Parzelle, the trail leads past the last houses toward Landsteg until, shortly afterward, a farm road branches off to the right through the forest into the Schwand district. There, follow the paved road about one kilometer further uphill into the Wald district.

Passing the highest farmhouse, the route continues up a narrow path through the Sonnenberger Forest to the “Alp” alpine pasture and then further uphill along the farm road toward “Sulzalpe.” After passing the Sulzalpe, the trail continues to the old huts in “Schlössle,” which you’ll reach after a short descent. There, a farm road branches off to the left, leading over the pass down to Steinigwies and onto the main road. Follow this road uphill for about 300 meters until, after the first curve, a trail branches off to the right into the forest. The trail then continues uphill, past the Wittelealpe, to the Körbersee. Walk once around the Körbersee. From there, continue on a farm road to the Alpe Batzen and past the “Alpmuseum uf m Tannberg” down to the old federal highway, which will take you back to the starting point in Schröcken.
