If you have always wanted a sensational view of the Lünersee, this hike from the Lünersee over the Gafalljoch and the Gamsluggen to the Totalp Hütte will inspire you.

This tour is not heavily frequented and offers beautiful views for experienced hikers. The tour starts at the lake Lünsersee, at the upper station of the Lünsersee cableway. Follow the trail counter clockwise to the opposite side of the lake and alp Lünersee. The trail direction Gafalljoch now becomes a little a bit eroded. Numerous cows from the alp Lünersee will accompany hikers at this passage. From the Gafalljoch one can enjoy a breath-taking view to the Swiss mountains. Take a short cooling break and continue on the Rätikon-Höhenweg Süd slowly down toward the valley, direction Schesaplanahütte/Gamsluggen. The path to Gamsluggen branches away to the right and becomes a steep path (marked in white-blue-white). Head for heights and surefootedness are a must on this tour. Short passages are secured with ropes. When at the highest point of the tour, you can see the lake Lünersee in his famous heart shape – like the heart of the Rätikon. After a short break with spectacular views the hike goes on with a short descent and continues gently to the Totalp Hütte. There you have to stop and try Topfenlasagne (quark lasagne) – it is delicious. Descent from the hut over the hiking trail to lake Lünersee and enjoy the last passage back to the starting point.

Sensational view of the heart-shaped Lünersee!
