  • Directions

From the village Damüls, one goes for a few minutes on the sidewalk in the direction of Oberdamüls until one reaches the signpost directing you leftwards to the Unterdamülser Alpe (mountain). From there it is a comfortable walk up the slope along the cross-country ski trail. Some are already content with this glistening winter stroll and can return on the same way back to Damüls.

Those that stay on the route, continue the ascent (130 altitude meters) to the Jägerstüble. There one crosses the street and follows the hiking trail to reach the, situated at 1700 meters, panoramwalk. From here one continues comfortably up to the Oberdamülser peak. The view from here ranges from the Damülser Horn (mountain) and the Löffelspitze to the Rätikon, where also the Schesaplana, Zimba, Drei Türme and the Sulzfluh can be seen. At the Oberdamülser peak one crosses the ski slopes and under the chairlift to continue to Oberdamüls. The prepared snowtrail ends at the Hotel Alpenstern and the Oberdamülser ski slopes. From there the trail goes on cleared roads back to the starting point.

It is worthwhile to wait for the perfect winter conditions before attempting the walk. An important reason for this is that the route may not be useable all winter long. The preparation of thee crossing between the Unterdamülser peak and the Höhenweg (path) needs a lot of snow fall.
