    Maria Schnee Chapel

    The chapel, oddly ancient-looking, located on a hill, was built in 1637 and extended in 1780/1856. The chapel is a foundation by Lukas Tschofen II. Maria Schnee is a local pilgrimage site with several legends. The Mariahilf image (now on the right side of the nave) once served as the image of grace, as shown by votive pictures no longer kept in the chapel.

    Can be well combined with the routes "Dorfrunde Partenen" (approx. 1.7 km / classic) and "Außerbach" (approx. 830 m / classic). This trail provides good connections to other trails in the Hochmontafon. In Montafon, the cross-country ski trails can be used free of charge.

    The illuminated cross-country ski trail runs downstream and slightly downhill along the Ill river. Untouched meadow landscapes accompany the skier.

    The trail is illuminated until 10:00 p.m. After that, only partially (info: Rifabecken partially illuminated until 12:30 a.m.). Of course, you can run the same way back.

    Just leave your car standing

    The regional buses of Montafonerbahn run throughout Montafon. The main lines depart hourly from Schruns train station.

    From Schruns train station you can reach Gaschurn with bus line 650. The stop is: “Versettla Bahn“. The access to the connecting trail is only a few meters from the bus stop.

    You can return from Gaschurn to Schruns train station with bus line 650.

    Arrival by train

    From Bludenz train station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Coming from Bludenz, take the Bludenz/Montafon exit and follow the L188 into Montafon to Gaschurn (Versettla Bahn).
