Höhenprofil
This fairly strenuous hike involves some significant elevation gain. However, it more than makes up for it with the peaceful seclusion of the Vergalda Valley and stunning panoramic views.

Directions
The tour starts at the bus stop right next to the Schafbergbahn valley station in Gargellen. The ascent through the peaceful Vergalda Valley initially follows the stream along a gravel path through meadows to the Vergalda Hut, which is open until around the beginning of September. The Vergalda quiet zone is home to chamois, ibex, and deer. In the fall, the leaves of the blueberry bushes in the Vergalda Valley turn reddish, creating a vibrant display of colors.
At the end of the valley, the trail follows a narrower path and the ascent becomes somewhat steeper. With a bit of luck, marmots can be spotted here. The final stretch to the Valzifenzjoch leads across a sea of rocks. At the top, you are rewarded with a stunning panorama and sweeping views over numerous three- and four-thousand-meter peaks all the way to the Jungfrau and the Aletschhorn in Switzerland.
The descent follows T2 hiking trails on the other side of the pass down to the Valzifenzalpe and continues along the mountain stream into the valley. The final kilometers lead back to the starting point in Gargellen via gravel and paved roads.

Public transportation:
Vorarlberg is easily accessible by all routes and modes of transportation. The public transit system is very well developed. Train and bus routes, as well as fares, are coordinated within the Vorarlberg Transport Association, much like in a major city. In some regions, hiking buses operate in addition to regular bus routes. In the summer, Lake Constance ferries connect the countries bordering the lake.
