2-Day Tour of Lake Formarin (Stage 2) | Braz

Stage 2 of this variedtwo-day tourin the Lechquellengebirge, featuring stunning views and a visit to one of Austria’s most beautiful spots—Lake Formarin.

From the Freiburger Hütte, follow theStebok-Wägthemed trail downhill toward the Klostertal. Thetrailtakes you past nine stations showcasing the flora, fauna, and geological features of the Klostertal—and with a little luck, you might spot the ibex that gives the trail its name! The trail leads along wide alpine paths and, in sections, forest trails through the Schmiedetobel, past the Musterinalpe, and down to Bargand. From there, it winds its way across the Sandtobel, through the Sponasa grounds to Obermason, and finally to the Kristbergsaal in Dalaas.

As an alternative to walking back, you can take a hiking bus from Alpe Formarin to Lech and then continue on the local bus to Dalaas (pay for your ticket in cash on the bus).

Difficulty: moderate – varied scenery
