Klostertalmuseum

The Klostertal Museum in Wald am Arlberg, opened in 1994, is located in the former “Thöny Hof”. The unsettled history of this farmstead can be followed far back to its construction around the middle of the 17th century. Up until 1959 the farmhouse was inhabited, and the fields cultivated.

Preserved in its original state, including extensive facilities and equipment, the farm is especially well suited for conveying knowledge and lore about, and a feeling for, the lives of the Klostertal farmers during times of extreme hardships.

The Klostertal Museum has taken on the task of familiarizing the local inhabitants and guests with the history of the valley. It focuses especially on actual factual topics dealing with Kloster Valley history, including life and work on the farm, social history, artists and their lives, the history of transportation (including the Arlberg Railway), postal services and tourism. There are also special temporary exhibits on changing topics.

Von 01. Mai – 31. Oktober jeweils Mittwoch und Sonntag von 14:00 – 17:00 Uhr.
Führungen werden nach Voranmeldung auch außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten gerne angeboten.
