Klaus-Weiler-Fraxern secondary school

Secondary School Klaus - Weiler - Fraxern
Secondary School Klaus - Weiler - Fraxern
  • In this hybrid structure, the school building and the library are connected by an auditorium. While the library was erected as a solid construction, the school building that stands at a right angle to it is made entirely of timber.

The classrooms are spread across three levels, with a variety of roof, wall and facade lighting elements lending this large facility a certain airiness and ensuring that even the bottom floor is graced with daylight. Thanks to its controlled ventilation and optimised building shell, this timber school was the first to meet the passive house standard and has acquired a reputation as the school of the future.
