Blons municipal centre

Civic Centre Blons
  • Built in the immediate vicinity of the church, the new municipal centre is divided into two distinct structures separated by an expanse that incorporates the church courtyard. The west wing has its gable side facing the road and contains a village shop, a bank and a primary school on the top floor, while the bottom floor houses a sports hall with a large window overlooking the valley. Both pediments are glazed, an unusual feature that ensures the pupils on the top floor can work in two bright gallery rooms. The second building contains the village inn and new municipal administration facilities, with the latter enjoying wonderful views of the valley from the bottom floor. In 2004, Blons municipal centre was honoured with the Bauherrenpreis – a developer’s award issued by the ZV association of architects.
