Hiking to the "most beautiful places in Austria"

In the Austrian TV show “9 Plätze – 9 Schätze”, viewers and a jury vote each year for the country’s most stunning places. Vorarlberg has had several winners: Körbersee in Schröcken at 1,656 metres, Formarinsee beneath the striking Rote Wand, the turquoise Lünersee in the Rätikon Alps, and the idyllic Wiegensee in Montafon. All of these scenic spots can easily be explored on a hike:

Art and culture at 2,032 m

For a year, artist Miriam Prantl and her team worked on the Silvretta and transformed the Schützenschacht at the Silvretta reservoir into a work of art. She succeeded in capturing the vastness of the mountain landscape and the depth of the structure in “Erdenlicht” (Earthlight), the name of the artwork. The Kunstraum2032silvretta serves as a “stage” for various types of art installations at an elevation of 2,032 m above sea level. Thanks to a flexible light and sound installation, the space can be used for a variety of purposes.
