When ski boots turn to dancing shoes
You’ve made your last run down the ski slope – now what? The Vorarlberg style of aprés ski leaves you a choice: enjoying a genteel music salon or dancing to live music until the wee hours of the morning.

Music Salon in the Bregenzerwald
For example, a series of concerts and readings entitled “Wälderness” will be presented in the Gasthof Hirschen am Schwarzenberg. The Hirschen’s lovely music salon will offer a variety of events from 9 December to 22 March. These will include appearances by The Monroes, Anton and Philipp Lingg, the All Right Guys, Spitfire 55, and the Mojo Blues Band, as well as readings by Erika Pluhar and Michael Köhlmeier with Monika Helfer.
Coffee, Cake, Art
Bookworms will find this worth a visit: The hotel Gasthof Krone in Hittisau and the ensemble 89 Hittisau organize a “Literature on Saturday” afternoon once every quarter. There, they serve literary treats along with coffee, tea and cake. The next date for this event is 18 December, when an Advent blend of music and literature will be presented.
Live Music and Open Air
The Vorarlbergers also definitely know how to party. Here, skiing days are brought to a proper close with music and elegant après-ski in Warth-Schröcken. Every Saturday from 13 January to 14 April, live music will be performed in the S1 Ski-Lounge (Link in German only) by the Partyjägern, Echte Helden, 4music, High Voltage, Alpenstarkstrom and DREIRAD. Rock, pop, blues and Irish folk songs are also performed live on the open air stage at 1,495 meters’ elevation every Saturday from 3 February to 7 April: Ski & Concert (Link in German only). Among the performers: Krauthobel, Dabado, Souljackers, Kurzfristig and Roadwork. For those who’d like a stroll down memory lane, we highly recommend Bosstime, the most popular Bruce Springsteen tribute band, who’ll be performing on 24 February. Fättes Blech, the Jack Russel Halsbänd, Brassclub, Herta bläst and Fäaschtbänkler all offer unusual sound mixes with brass band elements. And by the way: admission to our open-air concerts is free!
Arlberg Dances
Straight off the slopes into musical thrills: Between 1–15 April, Lech and Zürs transform themselves into a stage for top musicians from all kinds of genres. Nostalgic jazz sounds, snappy electro beats and modern pop songs in a vintage style can all be heard at the Tanzcafé Arlberg. The performance venues are the terraces and bars of hotels in Lech and Zürs.
