Walsermuseum

Most of the cultural assets come from lending and giftgivers from the valley, but many of the exhibits come from the private collection of the Felder family from Riezlern, which has transferred all their possessions to the community in the form of a foundation. On the outer facade is a worth seeing wall mosaic by the artist Hubert Berchtold. In 1986, the museum was significantly expanded in the course of remedial measures. An authentic Walserstube, chamber, kitchen and an alpine hut represent the centuries-long living of the Walser population. There was also a library with a collection of literature on Walser topics and the Musemsarchiv. The handwritten eight-volume folk-genealogy (1600-1950) on the Kleinwalsertal by Alfons Köberle is regarded as the heart of the museum. It was and still is continued by the expert hand of the following chroniclers Joseph Schugg, Siegfried Holzer and Stefan Heim.
