  • Höhenprofil

The path offers a gigantic panorama of 226 peaks of the Vorarlberg, Tyrolean, and Swiss mountains and all habitats of the Montafon - and almost without breaking a sweat. The sunny path begins at the mountain station of the Hochalpila Bahn and leads directly to two summits: Kreuzjoch and Zamangspitze. From there, it continues downhill to Grasjoch.

On this short panoramic hike, you pass by two great lookout summits. Kreuzjoch (2,398 m) and Zamangspitze (2,387 m) offer you a wonderful panorama of the entire Montafon mountain world. From Zamangspitze, you can see the high and barren mountains of the Silvretta, the rear Silbertal in the Verwall, and the pointed limestone mountains of the Rätikon. From Friday to Sunday, the Grasjoch and Hochalpila Bahn will bring you to the start of the route.

A visit to the Wormer Hut is always worth a short detour.

  • Directions

From the mountain station of the Hochalpila Bahn, you head towards Kreuzjoch. Here the path is still very wide and you see many beautiful viewpoints on the left side for a great photo. Eventually, you see the mountain station of the Panorama Bahn. Right behind it, the path leads you to Kreuzjoch. Once at the top, you can almost overlook the entire Montafon. And you can already see your next destination, the Zamangspitze. The path now goes back down from Kreuzjoch along the same route and over a beautiful panoramic path towards Zamangspitze. Eventually, you reach a junction where the path leads directly over an alpine trail to Zamangspitze. This trail is very exposed and only partially secured with a wire rope. Alpine experience, surefootedness, and a head for heights are an absolute must for this alpine trail. Therefore, I recommend you take the path to the right and walk around under the summit, taking the easier path on the other side of the summit. Once at the top, the Zamangspitze invites you to linger. Then back down the way. Now you always follow the path towards Zamangalpe. Once you arrive at Zamangalpe, you continue on the alpine path back to the Grasjoch Bahn.
