Family via ferrata Little Ballun
-
Höhenprofil
A beautiful via ferrata with a short rope bridge and varied climbing sections, especially for families with children from eight years old.
This beautiful family via ferrata was designed especially for children from a height of 1.20 meters. With a difficulty level of A/B as well as ramps, slabs, and a short rope bridge, it offers varied climbing fun. Safe handling of the via ferrata set is required, as due to the many traverses, additional rope protection is not always practical.
Ascent: The entrance to the via ferrata (next to the Birkhahnbahn mountain station) is reachable and signposted within 20 minutes from the Alpkogelbahn mountain station.
Descent: At the exit, follow a path marked with red wooden stakes over the ski slope to the Birkhahnbahn mountain station. Then follow the signs towards Alpkogelbahn.
The family via ferrata is well secured with steel cables and many anchors, but is only recommended in dry conditions!

Directions
The entrance to the via ferrata (next to the Birkhahnbahn mountain station) is reachable within 20 minutes from the Alpkogelbahn mountain station. The crystalline rock via ferrata is very well secured, but the necessary climbing equipment must naturally be carried along.
The difficulty level is mostly A/B, although some sections with B are a bit more challenging. Adults with some via ferrata experience complete the 100-meter height difference to the goal in about 30 minutes. With children, you should allow a bit more time (see topo).
From the exit, follow the path marked with red wooden stakes northwest. Cross the steep ski slopes and descend steeply to the Birkhahnbahn mountain station. Then follow the signs towards Alpkogelbahn.
