    The starting point for the mountain hike is in Au-Argenau. From here, follow the trail past the Vorsäß Boden and the Bergkristall Hut to the Annalperaualpe. At the Annalperaualpe, park your bike and continue on foot. From here, a mountain trail leads steadily uphill to the headwaters of the Dürrenbach. 

    After a while, you’ll pass the Steinkare, which remains covered in snow well into the summer, and shortly thereafter you’ll reach the start of the rock face. Ascend via the Ostscharte and climb the rock face—partly secured with ropes—up to the 1-kilometer-long summit ridge. On the rugged and exposed ridge, a head for heights and sure-footedness are absolutely essential as you make your way with careful steps toward the summit cross. The panoramic view from the summit is unique and lets you experience the vastness and a sense of freedom. Descend via the same route. 

    Note: This tour requires a head for heights!
