    The starting point for this hike is the Hochtannberg Pass. From there, follow the trail straight up—to the right of the Krumbach River—toward the Widderstein Hut. Beyond the Widderstein Hut, the trail continues on to the Widderstein. Passing the Widderstein’s southwest summit, the trail continues up to the Widderstein. 

    Once on the Widderstein, you’ve earned a well-deserved break, during which you can enjoy the breathtaking view. 

    Afterward, follow the trail back down until you reach an elevation of about 2,100 meters, where a trail branches off to the right. Follow this trail. Along the way, you’ll have a wonderful view of the Hochalpsee in addition to the Widderstein. 

    Tip: The Hochalpsee is a great spot to cool off! 

    At the Hochalppass, keep to the left and follow the trail downhill to the Hochtannbergpass.
