Via ferrata Kellenegg
-
Höhenprofil
An entry-level via ferrata close to the valley that offers a good opportunity to make the first climbing moves of the season.
A short but quite steep via ferrata awaits you directly on the outskirts of Brand, which is also suitable for sporty beginners thanks to numerous clamps. You’ll find opportunities to rest between the steep, partly slightly overhanging sections. After about 80 meters, the via ferrata adventure is completed.
Approach: The approach starts from the center of Brand, passing the Brandnertal Climbing Park (forest rope park) and along the Kellenegg hiking trail to the entry point.
Descent: For the descent, follow the path briefly uphill at the end of the via ferrata, from there continuing via the Kellenegg hiking trail back to the center of Brand.
The approximately 80-meter-long via ferrata earns the name Via Ferrata (iron path) because it is secured with numerous clamps.

Directions
The approach starts from the center of Brandnertal, passing the Brandnertal Climbing Park (forest rope park) and along the Kellenegg hiking trail to the entry point.
The via ferrata begins with a short steep section (B), then leads you over an edge (B/C) to a ramp (B). From here, the route continues over a steep slab (B/C) until you reach the first C section. This short overhang (C) must be overcome before the route proceeds via a ramp (B) to the next steep section (B/C) and eventually to the last slightly overhanging part. The last meters run through wooded terrain (A/B and A). You can find exact details on the topo map.
For the descent, follow the path briefly uphill from the end of the via ferrata, then continue via the Kellenegg hiking trail back to the center of Brand.
