Cross-country skiing with snow guarantee
The journey to Silvretta-Bielerhöhe is a special experience. First, take the Vermuntbahn from Partenen to Trominier (1,731 m). Then follows a spectacular ride in minibuses through tunnels and the wintry high mountain landscape of Silvretta to Silvretta-Bielerhöhe at 2,032 m. There you have a breathtaking view of a gigantic mountain world with Vorarlberg’s highest mountain, Piz Buin (3,312 m), and the frozen Lake Silvretta.Silvretta-Bielerhöhe offers cross-country ski trails for every taste. Cross-country skiing strengthens the cardiovascular system and shapes the figure. Freshly groomed trails, stunning winter panorama, and unique views of the surrounding mountain world.
The high-altitude trail is groomed for classic style.
In Montafon, the cross-country ski trails can be used free of charge.

Directions
The high trail starts at Berggasthof & Hotel Piz Buin and passes the Barbara Chapel towards Vermuntsee. After about one km, the route returns past the Silvretta House and ends again at the Piz Buin guesthouse.

Just leave your car parked
The regional buses of Montafonerbahn run throughout Montafon. The main lines operate hourly from Schruns station.
From Schruns station you can take bus line 85 to Partenen. The stop is: “Bergbahnen“. From the bus stop, you can reach the valley station of the Vermuntbahn in five minutes on foot. From there, continue with the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus to reach Silvretta-Bielerhöhe with Lake Silvretta.
For the return trip
Take bus line 85 from Partenen back to Schruns station.
Travel by train
Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly every half hour) from Bludenz station. There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.
Approach:
Coming from Bludenz take the Bludenz/Montafon motorway exit and follow the L188 into Montafon to Partenen (Vermuntbahn).
