  • Directions

The first altitude meters are either gained by the Sonnenkopfbahn in the neighboring Klostertal. Past Bärenland, you reach the scenic Muttjöchle in just under one hour. The 360° panorama covers the Lechtal Alps and all mountain groups of the Montafon region with Verwall, Silvretta, and Rätikon. Beautiful valley views stretch into the Silbertal, the Klostertal, and onto the sunny slopes of Bartholomäberg and Kristberg. After a long summit rest, the mountain path leads down the ridge through open terrain interspersed with rock blocks. At about 1850 m, you reach the tree line. Over mossy ground, it continues uphill through the Kirchliwald, then reaching the Kristbergsattel. A short, partly steep path leads to the Kristbergbahn mountain station.
