Buchwald round in Schruns

Directions

The Buchwald round starts at Kirchplatz in Schruns and leads down Bahnhofstraße to the Hotel Zimba. Then follow Veltlinerweg further until you reach the Widumweg junction. Turn into Widumweg and follow it down to Schrunser Feld (towards the main road). At the next signpost, keep left towards the Zamang Bahn car park. The signpost already shows Buchwaldweg, follow it. You cross Silvrettastraße and follow the paved path uphill with two curves. At the end of the residential houses at “Auf dem Bühel” Buchwaldweg starts downhill. The path runs through wooded sections. Again and again beautiful views open up over Schruns and the surrounding villages. Buchwaldweg ends at Hofweg. At the end of Hofweg, walk a few meters uphill until the path continues downhill to the left. You reach Mittelschule Dorf. Now just a few minutes remain and you arrive back at the starting point.

The regional buses operate throughout the Montafon valley. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns station.

Arrival by train to Montafon

From Bludenz station the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

Approach:

Take the A14 motorway to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns.

Underground parking at the station or parking spaces throughout the town center.
