Silvretta Park Montafon – Garfrescha Bahn valley station – Grandau – Garfrescha – Novatal – Speichersee – Alpe Nova – return the same way

From St. Gallenkirch, the route leads on moderate climbs to Garfrescha, a popular alpine hamlet. Besides the impressive traditional alpine houses, there is the first opportunity to stop, for example at the restaurant Brunellawirt or the Alpenhotel Garfrescha. Afterwards, it continues into the idyllic Novatal with lush mountain meadows. On beautifully hilly terrain, the route leads to Alpe Nova at 1,730 meters above sea level. The alp is known for its delicious dairy products. You shouldn’t miss the Montafoner Sura Kees.

    Important note:

Below the alpine huts at Grandau, a new road section leads up to Garfrescha. The “old road” through the alpine huts of Grandau is no longer open to public traffic or cyclists.

Free activity map (e-)mountain bike available at all Montafon tourist offices.
