Rickatschwende F. X. Mayr Health Retreat

The Rickatschwende F. X. Mayr Health Retreat has a privileged location high above the city of Dornbirn. The centre is composed of a darkly coloured main building and a side house with light-coloured wooden shingles. The building, which effortlessly harmonises with the background, makes optimal use of wood, stone and glass. It features a clearly defined stylistic idiom of ample light, sophisticated materials and stunning views. The result is a truly inspiring sensory experience.

The valley-facing rooms feature unrivalled views that extend to Lake Constance, the Swiss Alps and Vorarlberg’s Rhine Valley, whilst those on the opposite side face the forest, meadow and an idyllic old farmhouse. The valley is sometimes a sea of fog in winter and late autumn. This natural spectacle is not to be missed! In springtime, the orchards and flowers are in full bloom.

Rickatschwende 2:
A revitalized farmhouse for temporary stays

Rickatschwende 2 was originally a farmhouse dating back to the first half of the 18th century. Kommerzialrat Heinz Hämmerle invested in the old, dilapidated house and commissioned architect Hugo Dworzak to revitalize the site in order to create a space for the Rickatschwende Health Centre to offer additional services.

The extensive but careful renovation has resulted in a library, a workshop for painting courses and the like, a room for yoga sessions and a living and show kitchen.
