Kanisfluh is one of the most imposing peaks in the Bregenzerwald. From the valley, you can easily make out the craggy northern flank. The south faces are green and sun lit. An ideal habitat for ibex and 930 different butterfly species.

Mellau – ride up on the gondola lift to Rossstelle mountain terminal (1.395 m) – Kanisalpe – Holenke (2.044 m) – Wurzachalpe – Kanisalpe – Rossstelle – ride down to Mellau

A particular highlight of the Kanisfluh is a dawn walk to greet the new day with the ironman and to enjoy the play of light as the sun goes up. Or you can take in the mood on the summit in the soft light of sunset and observe the shadows playing around the Gormley sculpture. You may, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of the ibex that inhabit the mighty mountain and that have also occasionally no doubt given the ironman a good sniffing over.
