Directions
The tour starts at the Lecknertal hiking parking lot, which is accessible via a toll road. The route takes you right through the Nagelfluh Nature Park, first past Lake Leckner and then steadily uphill toward Rohnehöhe. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the Hoher Ifen and the Widderstein and pass several alpine pastures, most of which are open until mid-September.
At the start of the ridge trail, a detour to the summit of the Falken is recommended. The subsequent narrow ridge trail to Rohnehöhe is marked in white-blue-white; sure-footedness is essential here. The section along the German-Austrian border is called the “Luftiger Grat” (Airy Ridge). From the summit of the Eineguntkopf at 1,639 meters, the view extends far into the Alpine foothills and even as far as Lake Constance.
The narrow descent from the ridge of the Nagelfluhkette (Nagelfluh Range) is very steep. The effort is rewarded with a beautiful view of the valley and the lake Lecknersee. The final stretch leads through lush green meadows back to the starting point of the tour.
