    The challenge on a technically and physically demanding route at "Hike the Valley" for all experienced hikers. All information about registration for "Hike the Valley" can be found here

    The Gold route of “Hike the Valley” is approx. 23 kilometers long and has an elevation difference of about 1000 meters.

    For all ambitious and practiced hikers, this route is a personal challenge amidst the stunning nature of the Kleinwalsertal. Inspired by the unique atmosphere of the event, experienced hikers grow beyond themselves on this technically and physically demanding route and can be proud at the finish of having mastered the king’s route. The section over the alpine trail along the ridge over the Ochsenhofer Köpfe has been weather-related adjusted. The route is aimed at experienced hikers. It includes partly exposed sections and absolutely requires surefootedness and no fear of heights.

    Starting from the Walserhaus in Hirschegg, the route leads via Rohrweg and Schöntalweg up to the Heuberg cable car mountain station and further along the scenic Upper Höhenweg. The route continues along the Ochsenhofer Köpfe and descends into the Schwarzwassertal. Passing through the Hirschegg district Wälde, the route leads to the finish at the Walserhaus in Hirschegg.

    The route is not continuously marked even on the event day, October 4, 2025. Participants of “Hike the Valley” are responsible for themselves and independent on the route. The Gold route partly runs on an alpine trail and is aimed at experienced hikers. It includes partly exposed sections and requires surefootedness and no fear of heights.
