    Latschau - Alpilaalpe - Schwarzhornsattel - Tilisunahütte - Tilisunaalpe - Gampadelstal - Aquaweg (Gafazutweg) - Latschau

The challenging and longer mountain tour on safe paths and well-marked trails is a very popular circuit. Physical fitness is required, especially for the long, partly steep descent. Rich alpine flora with fantastic views and panoramas in the Rätikon area. In high summer, regional delicacies can be enjoyed at the alp huts (Alpilaalpe and Tilisunaalpe). The traditional “Sura Kees” is produced directly on the alp.

An overnight stay at the Tilisunahütte is recommended, followed the next day by a further ascent to the Sulzfluh (2,818 m) with a subsequent descent via the Tilisunaalpe and Gampadelstal back to the starting point (Latschau).

  • Directions

The ascent begins at the reservoir or Golmerbahn Latschau. Along the ski slope, you hike gently uphill at the forest edge towards Gauertal. Shortly before the Hotel Montabella, switch to the paved road and follow the signs first in the direction of Lindauer Hütte. It continues gently uphill. At the height of the hay meadows of Volspora or Volsporaalpe, turn left onto the steep path to Alpilaalpe. You reach Alpilaalpe after about 1 1/4 hours. Follow the path to the right further and after about 1 hour you reach Tobelsee. Tobelsee is one of the most popular photo motifs in Montafon. In good weather, the famous Drei Türme, the so-called landmark of Montafon, are reflected in this lake. It also invites you to rest. You reach Schwarzhornsattel in another 25 minutes and according to the signpost the Tilisuna Hut can be reached in another hour from Schwarzhornsattel. Soon you have made it and reach the highest point of this route, the Tilisunahütte with its idyllic location above Tilisunasee and limestone rocks. After a break, the descent follows and after about 45 minutes you reach Tilisunaalpe at the end of Gampadelstal. At Tilisunaalpe you can also enjoy the alp’s delicacies as well as the traditional “Sura Kees” once more. After the break the descent continues. You cross Gampadelstal along the alp road and initially along the Tilisunabach stream. Partly it goes down in switchbacks, passing Fischkaltersee and then after about 1 1/2 hours you reach Gampadelsalpe. The steepest descent is now behind you. However, it continues to go uphill. Follow the alp road to its end. Then turn onto the Gafazutweg (Aquaweg) and follow it back to Latschau.
