The Seven Summits Weekend is a treat for both experienced hikers and trail runners. This challenging 2-day tour is no walk in the park—the seven peaks require hard work to conquer over long stages. On Day 1: A total distance of 32 km, for which you should plan on a good 16 hours of walking time at a normal hiking pace. Four beautiful peaks are conquered on this dream tour.

Between the church and the Schröcken tourist office, follow the municipal road to the right, past the old Hotel Mohnenfluh, along the farm road to Alpe Felle. Past Alpe Felle, follow the trail to the fork in the path; there, keep left and continue along the Butzenloch to Butzensee.

Tip: Lake Butzensee is perfect for a refreshing dip!

Once you reach Butzensee, turn right and follow the trail over the Braunarlscharte to the Braunarlspitze. The trail then continues along the ridge toward Sattelkopf. At the next intersection, turn right toward Hochberg. Once you reach the Hochberg, take a moment to enjoy the view.

Then descend back down the approach trail and turn right at the next opportunity. Passing the Sattelkopf and through the Obere Seeli, continue on to the next trail fork. There, turn right toward the Rothorn. Once you reach the Rothorn, you’ve climbed the third peak of this stage.

Then head back down the approach trail to the trail fork. There, the trail continues to the right, past the Schadonaalpe. Keep following the signs to the fourth summit, the Hochkünzelspitze.

Then head back along the approach trail and via the Rothenplatz toward the Biberacher Hütte. Passing the Biberacher Hütte, the trail continues to Landsteg. From Landsteg, a hiking trail with a gentle incline leads back to Schröcken.

Tip: If you’re exhausted by the time you reach Landsteg, there’s a bus stop there, and the Bregenzerwaldbus (Line 852) will take you back to the starting point in Schröcken.

Stage 1: Hochkünzelspitze – Rothorn – Hochberg – Braunarlspitze (Walking time: 16 hours)

    Stage 2: Mohnenfluh – Juppenspitze – Höferspitze (Walking time: 13 ½ hours)
