  • Höhenprofil

The Rongg via ferrata is not long but requires quite a bit of courage due to its exposure. A stop at the cozy Ronggalpe is well deserved on the way back.

A not too difficult short via ferrata, which should not be underestimated due to its exposure and steepness. Starting with a rope bridge over the stream, the route leads deep into the gorge and directly along the waterfall. Before the exit stage, you will face an airy traverse that then leads to a forest path.

Approach: Directly opposite the valley station of the Gargellen mountain railways, a path leads to the mountain church, passing the Hotel Madrisa via a meadow path. To get directly to the start of the gorge, you cross the Ronggbach over a narrow wooden footbridge.

Descent: The descent leads past the Ronggalpe back to the center of Gargellen.

The Rongg via ferrata can be optimally combined with the neighboring via ferrata through the Röbisch gorge.

  • Directions

Directly opposite the Bergbahnen Gargellen parking lot, a path leads to the mountain church, passing the Hotel Madrisa via a meadow path to the start of the Rongg Waterfall via ferrata. The start is located on this meadow path just after crossing a small wooden bridge. From the parking lot, the start can be reached in about 20 minutes.

A short but impressive via ferrata that runs directly along the Rongg Waterfall. A rope bridge over the stream, a steep wall, and the roaring waterfall are the highlights. You can find more information about the difficulty levels of the via ferrata in the attached topo.

The descent leads past the scenically beautiful Ronggalpe back to the center of Gargellen.
