Verwall – Konstanzer Hütte
-
Höhenprofil
A very nice bike tour with partly challenging passages rewards bikers with fantastic views of the Verwalltal and the Patteriol!
Still a secret tip!The tour starts at the “Loipe Verwall” and leads past the motocross track and bike area “El Dorado”. At the helicopter landing place we continue on the tarred road or the wide gravel road through the Bike Area through the forest. Soon you reach a viewing platform with a wonderful panoramic view in the direction of Parseierspitze (the only three thousand metre peak of the Northern Limestone Alps) and Stanzertal. The trail runs through the Hermine Stollen, followed by a bus stop in a left turn and both paths cross briefly and then run parallel to each other again. The paths then cross again, but it is advisable to continue on the road after the second crossing. On the road one arrives then at the Rasthaus Ferwall (open 10:00 o’clock to 17:00 o’clock in the summer every day). Here, it is worth taking a short break and getting some liquid as the more demanding part of the tour starts from Rasthaus Verwall. After a small wooden bridge turn right towards Ferwallstausee.
From there continue on a tarred road towards the hydroelectric power station along the Verwallstausee shore. After the hydroelectric power station you arrive at the Salzhüttle. At the Salzhüttle turn left onto the gravel road in the direction of the Konstanzer Hütte and continue uphill to the next junction. Continue straight on, from here partly steeper uphill, the tour becomes more demanding until the beginning of the serpentines, the most difficult part of the tour. At the end of the serpentines there is then a large boulder.
After the stone it goes briefly downhill, then moderately uphill towards the Konstanzer Hütte, which comes more and more into view, along the Rosanna. The Konstanzer Hütte is located over a small bridge, finally at the destination on the small hill. From here either take the same path back or continue in the direction of Silbertal/Schrunz.Ferwall innAfter 7,5km small boulder (big stone)

Directions
Start of the tour is the turn-off “Loipe Verwall” from there on either tarred road or Loipe (gravel road) branch off. The road and the gravel road run parallel to the motocross track and the bike area “El Dorado”.
Either direction helicopter landing place further on the tarred road or by the Bike area further on the broad gravel way. The road then always runs through woods (in hot weather nice shade and not too warm).
Past a viewing platform in the direction of Parseierspitze (the only three-thousander of the Northern Limestone Alps) and Stanzertal (where the valley is not really visible). The trail runs through the Hermine tunnel. Important with the Hermine Stollen: inform in advance whether this is open or closed, since in the summer due to maintenance work the stollen is closed. But this will be announced in time. In a left bend a bus stop comes and both ways (road and gravel road) cross briefly and then run parallel again next to each other.
Afterwards the paths cross again, but after the second crossing it is advisable to follow the road on the way out. After a few hundred metres you reach Rasthaus Ferwall (open daily in summer from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
It is worth taking a short break at the Ferwall service area and getting some liquid as the more demanding part of the tour begins at the Ferwall service area. After a short break, turn right from Rasthaus Ferwall after a small wooden bridge in the direction of Verwall reservoir. (Worth seeing is the suspension bridge, the dam wall and the glass platform on the suspension bridge). Continue on a tarred road towards the hydroelectric power station along the Verwall reservoir shore. After the hydroelectric power station there is a right turn and again over a wooden bridge you reach the Salzhüttle. (The bus, line 6, also goes this way). Pass the Salzhüttle and turn left onto the gravel path (now only gravel path) in the direction of the Hut Konstanzer, always uphill until the next turnoff. Turn right up the mountain onto the hiking trail to the Hut Kaltenberg (not suitable for MTB as only hiking trail). Continue straight on in the direction of Konstanzer Hütte/Patteriol. From here it goes partly steeper uphill and the tour becomes more demanding until the beginning of the serpentines, the most difficult part of the tour.
At the end of the serpentines there is a large boulder (remnant of the glacier) with a small bench. Here it might be worth taking a little break to enjoy the picturesque view and the breathtaking view of the striking Pateriol.
After the stone it goes then briefly downhill, then further moderately uphill direction Konstanzer hut which is now more and more in view, always along the Rosanna (here still a relatively small river). On the right side you pass the winter quarters of the Hut Konstanzer (perfect for ski tours on the Scheibler or Faselfadspitze in winter) and over a small bridge, finally at your destination on the small hill there is the Konstanzer Hütte. From here either the same way back (much more relaxed than the way there) or further towards Silbertal/Schrunz.Start Cross country ski trail Verwall
