Höhenprofil
Egg is an island. Not in the conventional sense – however, the village centre is only accessible via bridges. The Bregenzerach and the Schmittenbach flow through the village and, outside of the village, the Subersach flows into the Bregenzerach. Not to mention several small streams. They are all spanned by bridges. Above the biggest village in theBregenzerwald – with regard to both surface area and number of inhabitants – a gallows mound serves as a reminder of the high justice or blood court of earlier times. To get there, you have to pass through Großdorf which, according to many Großdorf inhabitants, is the main part of the double village. Egg is the village most characterised by stonehouses in the region, which is in sharp contrast to “wooden” Großdorf.
On each walk, information columns draw attention to a building, to the special features of the cultural landscape, to artisanal or ecological details, to facets of artistic, culinary or touristic works.

Visit the Egg museum in the former primary school. It was established in 1904 and is the oldest valley-area museum in Vorarlberg.

Once you arrive at the plateau, keep to the left and circumvent the cluster of houses in a clockwise direction. You then return to “Mühle” via a flat path. At signpost 23.81, you turn off to the left and follow the “Großdorf Rieseweg” signposting. In “Hub”, you leave the hiking path and turn off to the right.
