Summit Höferspitze
-
Höhenprofil
A medium hike embedded in the beautiful mountain world between Bregenzerwald, Kleinwalsertal valley and Allgäu.
From the bus stop “GH Adler” (free parking directly next to the bus stop) a wide forest path leads zigzag in a northwesterly direction towards Höferkamm and Hochalppass. Over hilly terrain with a magnificent view of the Widderstein, follow the path to the Hochalppass junction. With a view to Baad on the right (Kleinwalsertal) or Schröcken-Neßlegg on the left, you now follow an exposed path along the Höferkamm up to the summit. Way back: on the same path, or descent via Schröcken-Neßlegg possible. The second variant leads steeply past avalanche barriers to the idyllic Höferalm. Then you follow a small piece of forest until you see the first houses in the Neßlegg district.
Stop for refreshments: the Hut Widderstein (but not on the direct way to the Höferspitze!), restaurants in the Neßlegg district, Berghotel Körbersee (from Neßlegg a 45-minute, mediocre ascent to Körbersee) Special tips: if you are in very good condition, Widderstein is possible first and then Höferspitze

Directions
From the bus stop “GH Adler” (free parking directly next to the bus stop) a wide forest path leads zigzag in a northwesterly direction towards Höferkamm and Hochalppass. Over hilly terrain with a magnificent view of the summit Widderstein, follow the path to the Hochalppass junction. Way back: on the same path, or descent via Schröcken-Neßlegg possible. The second variant leads steeply past avalanche barriers to the idyllic Höferalm. Then you follow a small piece of forest until you see the first houses in the Neßlegg district.
If you combine the summit Höferspitze with the descent to Schröcken-Neßlegg, the short ascent to lake Körbersee (Austria’s most beautiful place in 2017) is ideal.
The whole tour offers a magnificent panorama with a view of the Kleinwalsertal valley, the Allgäu and then the lake Kalbelesee and lake Körbersee. Medium tour, whereby sure-footedness and a head for heights are assumed; these basics are needed especially for the last stretch along the Höferkamm.
When descending towards Schröcken-Neßlegg danger when wet (Attention: very slippery!) Duration of the tour: 2 h (Gasthof Adler – Hochalppass – Höferspitze – Schröcken-Neßlegg), 766 HM up and 937 HM down – Well signposted (but at the first sign you have to orientate yourself at the Höferkamm! Höferspitze not yet signposted) – Medium hike embedded in the beautiful mountain world between Bregenzerwald, Kleinwalsertal and Allgäu.Start Bus Stop Inn Adler
