Ski tour
Ski tour Rotbühelspitze (2,853 m)
-
Höhenprofil
A very demanding but incredibly beautiful route for ski mountaineers.
The gently ascending start through the Valzifenztal is very pleasant to get “in the rhythm” before the terrain becomes steeper. Since this mountain is considered a secret tip, often laying your own ascent track is necessary and requires experience in making ascent tracks as well as assessment of alpine dangers. However, you will be rewarded with many meters of untracked deep snow slopes.
The professionals of the Montafon mountain guides recommend solid basic training, avalanche and risk management. We recommend you do the guided ski tours with our Montafon mountain guides. You can find the program for the tours at www.montafon.at/skitouren

Directions
From the parking lot, you ascend via the Lower Valzifenzalp (1,693 m). Passing south below the Ritzenspitze, the ascent begins at the alp. At the Upper Valzifenzalp (1,838 m) you head southeast. To the south, the route branches off to the Schlappiner Joch. The valley is called Wintertal, and after about 6 km and 800 m altitude gain, a customs hut (2,221 m) is reached. Now the path splits. To the Rotbühelspitze you continue southeast and at about 2,400 m you turn east into a small valley. This leads hidden all the way near the summit. Finally, there is a steep slope to cross before reaching the summit. The descent is on the same path as the ascent. Under safe conditions, the steep summit slope to the northwest can also be directly descended to the saddle by the customs hut from the Rotbühelspitze.
