Höhenprofil
The “most beautiful place in Austria 2017” is located in the middle of the Lechtal Alps, southwest of the Hochtannberg Pass at 1,656 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by mighty mountains: on one side, the Braunarl Group captivates, to the left of it the Juppenspitze, and diagonally opposite, to the north, the Widderstein rises up.
The two lakes at Hochtannberg accompany you on this hike. From the Hochtannberg Pass, a well-maintained, wide path leads to Lake Körbersee, which is at approximately the same altitude as the Hochtannberg Pass. From Lake Körbersee, you can hike to Schröcken via the Batzenaple. From Schröcken, you can take the bus back to the starting point. With this option, a visit to the Alpine Museum is recommended.
