Höhenprofil
Along the shore of Lake Lünersee, the path leads you from the Totalphütte to the Douglass Hut, which is located directly at the mountain station of the Lünerseebahn. A pleasurable route with constant views of the legendary Lake Lünersee.
From the Totalphütte, the route leads you down a path to Lake Lünersee. Following the lakeshore path to the left, the way takes you to the Douglass Hut. Lake Lünersee lies at about 1,970 meters above sea level and is located at the end of the Brandnertal. It is one of the largest high mountain lakes in Vorarlberg and also the biggest reservoir for power generation. At the time of its commissioning in 1958, the Lünersee power plant was the most powerful pumped-storage power plant in the world. Lake Lünersee measures about 112 hectares and has a maximum filling volume of 78.3 million cubic meters.
Due to the high demand at the huts, we recommend reserving sleeping places directly at the huts early enough.
