Already at the end of the 18th century, the route over the Silbertaler Winterjöchle was used as a connection between Vorarlberg and Tyrol. The 42.195 km in a dreamlike setting run from the start in Silbertal away from car roads over forest and hiking trails to St. Anton am Arlberg. Enthusiastic spectators as well as fame and honor await the participants at the finish – because every finisher is a winner! Of course, this route can be done all summer long.

Directions
A natural experience in pristine mountain scenery. St. Anton am Arlberg is located at 1,300 m above sea level; here in 2019 the Montafon Arlberg Marathon started for the first time. Immediately after the start in the village, the route follows away from traffic towards Verwallsee. The mountain path over the Silbertaler Winterjöchle past Langsee is probably the most beautiful way to cross the state border from Tyrol to Vorarlberg. Past Alpe Fresch and Alpe Gafluna the path leads downhill. From the Fellimännle mountain hut, intense elevation meters are collected again towards Wasserstubenalpe and Wildried before descending over Ober- or Unterbuchen to the Teufelsbach Waterfall. A short loop through the village centre of Silbertal leads directly to the finish at the sports field.
