Already at the end of the 18th century, the route over the Silbertal Winterjöchle was used as a connection between Vorarlberg and Tyrol. The 42.195 km in a dreamlike setting run from the start in Silbertal away from roads via forest and hiking trails to St. Anton am Arlberg. At the finish, enthusiastic spectators as well as fame and honor await participants – because every finisher is a winner! Of course, this route can be done throughout the summer.

  • Directions

The Montafon Arlberg Marathon powered by Sparkasse starts again in 2024 in Silbertal in Montafon and ends in St. Anton am Arlberg. Away from roads, we run on forest and hiking trails through the Natura 2000 area Verwall. After the start at the fire station in Silbertal and a loop through the village, the route passes the alpine hut Fellimännle and the Gafluna Alp to the Fresch Alp. At Langsee, you then cross the most scenic border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Afterwards, the last strength is mobilized through the Verwall valley for the short ascent via the Sattelwald path, before you can celebrate your finish through the village.
