Mellau | Hiking tour through the Mellental nature reserve

The forest trail runs along the Mellenbach to the Möslealpe and up to the Bleichtenalpe at 1.325 meters. This is the highest point of the tour. Most of the time, hikers are in the forest. There are always beautiful views of the surrounding mountains from clearings, for example of the Kanisfluh. On the Waldalpe, six old sycamore maples are an eye-catcher. Farmers used to plant them to provide shade for the cows. They used the leaves as fodder, bedding and also to fill comforters.

This family-friendly hike runs from the village center of Mellau via Bengath to Dösvorsäß, which is located in the Mellental valley. This hike is particularly recommended on hot days, as the forest in Mellental provides shade.
There are great opportunities for children to play and rest by the Mellenbach stream. You walk for approx. 1 hour along the farm track until you reach the chapel in Dös Vorsäß. Return along the same route.Waypoints
